- Abstract
- This paper presents an optimization method to find a shape of the permanent magnet and slot of the motor for minimization of cogging torque and maximization of efficiency. The magnetic field computation is done by Finite Element Method(FEM) and the torque calculation is performed by the virtual work method. For the shape optimization, multi-objective program technique and advanced Evolution Strategy(ES) are adopted. Simulation result has brought an optimized shape of the magnet and the slot of the motor. The performance of the optimized motor is compared with those of the initial model.
