- Abstract
- This paper presents a two-dimensional (2-D) retrodirective metasurface (MS) operating at 5.8 GHz. A phase-gradient MS has been proposed to demonstrate 2D retrodirective characteristics. The MS is composed of two crossed arrays of striplines mounted on both sides of a substrate, and placed above a metallic plate. Based on the generalized Snell's law, the wavefront of an anomalous reflection wave can be easily manipulated. Thus, an incident wave is retrodirected at a specific angle by tunning exactly the dimension of the supercell of the MS. The theoretical and simulated scattering properties show good agreement that retrodirective angles for incident waves along x- and y-directions can be controlled independently.
