- Abstract
- An efficient ID recognition method is described that uses blinking patterns of an Infrared Light Emitting Diode (IR-LED) and a camera with variable frame rates. The method provides real-time synchronization of simple communication and high applicability and efficiency with its compact design in many cases. We focused on analyzing the blinking patterns of infrared light using an inexpensive web camera to acquire data with high rate of accuracy. The major advantage of the proposed system is that any camera equipped with infrared light pass filter may be used to recognize LED blinking. The recognized patterns may be used to identify the objects and the users in museum environments.
