Abstract
In this paper, we propose a coplanar waveguide (CPW) layer for X-band radar antennas. The proposed CPW has three transition parts, which can minimize leakage electric fields and improve impedance matching characteristics of the CPW. To verify the feasibility, the CPW in the back-To-back configuration is fabricated, and the CPW performance such as the reflection and transmission coefficients are measured. The reflection coefficients are under-22 dB, and transmission coefficients are higher than-0.7 dB in the target frequency of 9 to 10 GHz. The results demonstrate that the proposed CPW can be applied to X-band radar applications. © 2022 IEEE.
