- Abstract
- Transfer printing techniques have advanced the assembly of micro- and nanomaterials into precise, two- and three-dimensional arrangements. These techniques provide versatile ways to apply these materials and structures in integrated functional systems, including flexible electronics, optoelectronics, and high-performance sensing. This chapter covers recent developments in various transfer printing techniques with specific focuses on their mechanisms, fundamental elements, and specific applications in optical systems with various levels of complexity to the mechanical and material factors that govern their operation. This chapter also explores the mechanical and material factors that influence their operation and provides an outlook for their potential in both research and industrial production. © 2024 Elsevier Inc.
