Abstract
The survey and analysis was conducted on 50 public libraries in domestic and foreign since 2000 for the purpose of identifying the types and characteristics of the reading area and its Layout Composition. For this purpose, the framework for analysis called Area, Room, and Node was established and the connection relationship was identified. This study has its significance as a basic data survey of future studies. The results of the survey analysis are as follows. First, the types of connections of spatial composition by floor were largely divided into six types: Line, Branch, Ring, Network, Star and Complex. Second, the analysis of areas directly linked to the room revealed a number of cases in the order of the adult Area>Children Area>Hall>Main Circulation Distribution Point. Third, as a result of surveying and analyzing the link between the adult areas, there were many types of N-types in which various areas were connected, such as network organization, centered on the main circulation distribution points. Fourth, the analysis of the relationship between the adult area and other areas showed the largest number of cases in the Main Circulation Distribution Point(NC)- Adult Area(AA)-Periodcal Area(AP).
