Abstract
This study deals with the experimental investigation related to removal of arsenic from water by the adsorption onto Fe2O3 nanoparticles on basalt powders (Fe2O3@basalt). A simple synthesis to prepare a Fe2O3@basalt composite has been developed as one-step hydrothermal reaction. Fe2O3@basalt was characterized by FESEM, XRD and BET. The adsorption of arsenic As (III) was measured and confirmed by ICP analysis. The results showed nanocomposite with high surface area of 179.24 m2/g. ICP analysis data shows the efficient removal of arsenic (III) from drinking water in short interval for 15 minutes from 100 ppb to 5.44 ppb range. This data shows the excellent technology for removal of Arsenic from water, because the 5,44 ppb is enough for drinking limit bellow WHO limit of 10 ppb.
