Abstract
We study light propagation in system of square and kagome lattice planes a distance h apart and consisting of cold atoms with an arbitrary number density in the low-intensity limit. Many-body optical responses obtained from a coupled-dipole numerical simulation are compared with those from both of infinite lattice model and standard optics. We find the density regime in which cooperative effects from the simulation agrees with those from the standard optics based on the mean-field theory.
