Abstract
As the interest in healing in living space is growing these days, modern people are doing a lot of activities for healing. Especially, creating a living space considering the healing aspect of the color environment is very important. In this direction, this paper studied achromatic colors among colors which affect the psychological, spiritual and physical aspects in terms of spatial environment. In particular, we are to carry out the experimental research with a focus on the frequency of the affected brain in unconsciousness. This EEG (electroencephalogram) is very important for the brain's response to color as a method assessing emotions and cognitive responses by unconscious levels of human cognitive activity. The purpose of the EEG experimental study on how the human EEG responds to achromatic colors is to analyze and integrate the characteristics of the experiment, focusing on the stimulated achromatic colors. In this study, the experiment was performed for 32 subjects and achromatic colors were experimented by color coding the five steps proposed in NCS (Natural Color System). In particular, experimental space environment and experimental method to maximize the experimental results were studied and presented, objective EEG equipment certified at national level was used, the experiment was carried out by 10-20 electrode arrangement method, which is the unipolar induction method, by international electrode placement for each achromatic color code and dense experimental results were obtained through the statistical analysis using SPSS 22 in the statistical verification stage. This experimental study tried to find a method to reduce the experimental error that affects the selection of the objective subject and the environment of the experimental space in the EEG experimental environment and condition and apply VR for direct color stimulation and integrated achromatic reactions by deriving the experimental contents of the color which was not applied in the previous EEG experimental study into many partial results. Based on the experimental results, overall arousal was shown in 0500-N and overall relaxation was observed in 2500-N, 5000-N and 7500-N. Also in the 9000-N, the experimental results showing a definite relaxation could be synthesized. These results show that the white series is a color that awakens the brain, while darkening gray and black shows overall relaxation and stable relaxation, respectively.
