Abstract
Generally, the rahmen bridge is the one of the bridge superstructure types and it is also called as frame in other words. The rahmen bridge has high seismic resistance performance because all members of rahmen bridge are connected as a rigid joint. Furthermore, the design and construction processes are much simpler than other bridge structural types because of its connection method. However, rahmen bridge is limited to short span bridges. To lengthen bridge span, steel composite rahmen bridge is developed. In this study, the structural behavior of I-shape plate girder with or without prestressed steel plate strip intermittently welded on its web in tension is investigated by experiment. The results are analyzed and discussed.
