- Abstract
- This thesis discusses the syntactical expression and agglutinative peculiarity of Ending. Ending in Korean is not inflectional unit but agglutinative unit. Following are major contents of this thesis.
First, Ending as a agglutinative unit is non-independent, pro -positional, objective syntactical unit.
Second, Ending is not head but non-head even if it is syntactic unit, because Ending is not connected with a grammatical participation in inside of sentence but only add grammatical meaning or feature to a proposition sentence.
Third, we proposed a allowance of syntactical category A (gglutinative elements) with grammatical meaning or feature (H, T, M etc.). and a re-category of verb phrase VA(n)P. On the basis of those facts, we ultimately proposed ‘Syntactical expression of Ending Adding’. It is a syntactic combination process of aggluti -native unit. The syntactic combination process is like a ‘[VP + A(N)] VA(N)P]’.
