- Abstract
- Construction Engineers plays an important roles in all phases of construction project life cycle, such as design, engineering, procuring, construction and building maintenance. In fact, the capabilities of construction engineers is one of pivotal factors to accomplish the success of construction project. But, unfortunately there is not sufficient research on the career development of construction engineering human resources in domestic industry, even if the basic research on the status or demand of the human resources is not exist in the domestic construction industry. This research focused the status of the demand for the career development of construction engineering human resources registered to KENCA(Korea Engineering and Consulting Association). In the result of this research, we found that 96% of respondents in the survey interest in those career development and 86% of those needs for the career development program in those occupational jobs. But, 73% of those do not have the appropriate program on the personal career development in and out of those engineering companies. Based on these results, we have to research on the setting the model on the personal career development of construction engineers and building the application program to help the personal engineers have the vision for future and his professional accomplishment in the construction industry.
