- Abstract
- This paper conducted energy conservation feasibility measurement of the HVAC systems for the supermarket store to evaluate the building's energy performance and identify potential cost-effective energy saving opportunities. The air temperature for one roof top unit(RTUs) and one makeup air unit(MAUs) was also trended and the control sequences and parameters were collected from the control contractor. The results of building energy performance measurement show that the supermarket can improve the building energy performance by recommendations: 1) Calibrate and adjust the minimum outside damper position to avoid the infiltration and generate a lower space humidity level. 2) Add a variable frequency driver(VFD) on the supply fan of the two bigger units (RTU-1and 2), and 3) Fine tune three makeup units to avoid the gas heater enabled when the space is still under cooling modes.
