<춘향전>의 형성배경과 남원

Abstract

There has been hardly any study on the relation between Namwon and <Chunhyangjeon> so far. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore Namwon as a Background of Forming <Chunhyangjeon> through ‘The Original Story of <Chunhyangjeon> and Namwon', and ‘The Background Space of <Chunhyangjeon> and Namwon', and to establish the foundation necessary to further investigate <Chunhyangjeon>. The results are summarized as follows:First, as for the work to explore the original story which is very decisive in forming <Chunhyangjeon>, it is emphasized that 'The Story of Namwon' is the starting and terminal points Second, this study is contributed to understanding <Chunhyangjeon> by investigating specifically such places of Namwon as Gwanghanroo which is the background space of <Chunhyangjeon>. Last but not least, it is proposed that the people of Namwon consider what they should do to establish the identity of the ‘Chunhyangje’ festival, what they should do to make the ‘Chunhyangje’ festival worth its name.
