- Abstract
- Gears are crucial components of mechanical systems that transmit and convert power, ranging from smallwatches to large gears transmitting tens of thousands of horsepower. Gears have long been used fordeceleration and power transmission. Cars, being closely related to daily life, require safety, economy, andconvenience. Additionally, depending on the manufacturing process and purpose of use, gears used in carsneed to be lightweight, highly durable, precise, strong, and low-noise. With the increasing adoption of electricvehicles, achieving high precision and low noise in electric vehicle motors and transmissions has becomeparamount. Therefore, the super-finishing process is widely applied to most decelerators and transmissions.
However, hybrid polishing tools for the super-finishing process are entirely dependent on imports. This studyaims to analyze the machining efficiency and tool life of grinding wheels to develop localized grinding andsuper-finishing tools. Through this analysis, the study intends to determine the feasibility of localizing theproduction of these tools.
