- Abstract
- Hydroxyapatite and nano-sized TiN composites were prepared using a spark plasma sintering (SPS) apparatus. The maximum biaxial strength of composites of hydroxyapatite and nano-sized TiN were achieved by SPS with a composition of 0.01% nano-sized TiN at 1000oC. The decomposition of hydroxyapatite and nano-sized TiN composites was not detected by XRD at the range of 900oC to 1100oC, this means the decomposition of hydroxyapatite was restrained easily by addition of nano-sized TiN.
