Abstract
The purpose of this study was conducted to verify the change of psychological health factors(self- regulation, vitality, optimism) according to the falls prevention exercise program for 12 weeks in elderly women who live in marginalized areas. Elderly women residing in the G-city of Gyeongsangbuk-do was performed falls prevention exercise program at three days a week during 12 weeks. Survey was carried out before, during and immediately after participation of exercise program and the final data analysis in 88 people has been used. Exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, 1-way repeated ANOVA for data analysis was applied, the method of Sidak was applied for post hoc analysis. According to participate in the 12-week exercise program, self-regulation, vitality and optimism was significantly changed in elderly women. The changes in psychological factors were showed to improve with increasing duration of exercise participation. In particular, there was no significantly changed between before and during the exercise participation, but significantly changed between before and after exercise participation. In conclusion, to improve the psychological health factors of the falls prevention exercise program in elderly women, it is suggested that the exercise program should be performed at least three days a week and 12 weeks or more.
