The current pronunciation of the initial consonants of Zhi(知) Zhuang(莊) Zhang(章) nasal-coda Rhymes of Dang(宕) jiang(江)phonology in Peking dialect is more related to modern mandarin dialect’s phonetic historical separation and combination rather than separation and combination.
