무용/동작치료에 참여한 직업무용수들의 경험연구 -직무스트레스와 심리적 안녕감을 중심으로-

Abstract

This qualitative study explores Korean professional dancers’ experiences in using dance/movement therapy for psychosocial support. Seven participants were recruited from a dance company in Korea. Participants engaged in eight two-hour sessions. Data were gathered through an individual interview, personal journals, and drawings centering on two research questions: 1) What were participants’ experiences relating to psychological well-being in the dance/movement therapy program? 2) What were participants’ experiences relating to job stress? Data analysis revealed four themes: 1) A new positive beginning, 2) Catalyzing growth through inner work, 3) Finding ways to outwardly express themselves, and 4) Importance of interactions in relationships. The result of this study provide insight into how dance/movement therapy can promote meaningful reflection through an inner journey. This study suggests that dance/movement therapy contributes to professional dancers’ psychological wellbeing and personal and professional growth.
