- Abstract
- This study aims to draw semiotic meanings in dance documentary on New York City Ballet, <city.ballet.>.
The purpose of this study is to look into the hegemony, innate disposition, and the stereotype related to the ballet dancers implicit in <city.ballet.>. The researcher appreciate the documentary on the New York City Ballet as a cultural constructions between the fiction and the non-fiction, and wanted to further examine the signs documented in the clip that is used to deliver the purpose of creator's intention on the semiotic perspective.
