- Abstract
- This paper proposes a new active balancing method adding an auxiliary circuit to a LDC (Low voltage dc/dc Converter) circuit to increase battery utilization ratio. The proposed system incorporates a distributed structure for HVBAT (High Voltage Battery) modules with individually mounted LDC. On/off switching and discharge current are controlled to balance the HVBAT modules. The system employs an active clamp forward converter to achieve soft switching, providing high efficiency. The proposed active balancing control with additional auxiliary circuit was verified through simulations and Experiments. © 2018 KIEE EMECS (KIEE Electrical Machinery and Energy Conversion Systems).
