Abstract
After North American wide area black out, various studies have been conducted to find out the reason of the disaster. One of main reasons was misoperation of generator protection system. Since then, protective coordination of generator protection system and excitation system control has been hot topic among electrical engineers. In order to analyze this problem in detail, we modeled detailed excitation system including underexcitation limiter and verified its performance and discussed protective coordination.
