- Abstract
- Recognizing the importance of the emotional stability of working women, this study was designed to explore the effect of the Tea Ceremony and Meditation Program on the emotional balance of economically active women. It also aimed to provide basic data to promote it as an education program to help them gain emotional stability and lead healthier, happier lives, both physically and psychologically. To this end, the study selected twenty-two female publicofficials based in Seoul willing to participate in the program as an experimental group and twenty-two female publicofficials who did not participate in the program as a control group. Prior to the program, a preliminary survey on emotionalstability was carried out on both groups. After a ten-week program composed of ten sixty-minute sessions was conducted,a second survey was undertaken on the same topic. The findings of the study show that the Tea Ceremony and Meditation Program had a positive effect on the emotional stability of working women: tension and anxiety; worry and fear;contentment and composure; and confidence and optimism. The significance of the study lies in the fact that the Programenhanced the quality of life for working women by helping them gain emotional balance, build positive self-esteem,become open-minded in interpersonal relationships and lead happier lives.
