- Abstract
- Since the X-ray was discovered by Roentgen in 1893, it has been applied in various areas especially for the medicine. Also, for the cancer diagnosis and treatment, the instruments of X-ray have been developed and applied. However, the existing methods of X-ray generation use the hot cathode and high voltage anode. It needs operation temperature for nearly 1000 degrees in order to get the electron on the cathode. This high temperature effect reduces the lifetime of the cathode, thus affecting the overall X-ray instrument. One of the candidate tools for solving this bad effect is to use Carbon Nano Tube (CNT) based X-ray source. CNT X-ray has advantages for the size, and low temperature, and has unique properties comparing with existing X-ray source. We have to analyze characteristics of CNT X-ray. We have used FLUKA analysis as computer simulator. The purpose of this paper is to calculate X-ray peak energy and distributions in terms of the energy by each distance with the source size and other parameters. We have analyzed the FWHM graph for the relations between energy distribution and distance. This showed the Carbon Nano Tube not only to use as X-ray source but also a new concept of X-ray source as medical instrument.
