Abstract
This paper is to propose methods for realizing user-designable mobile phone cover that consume no electric power. The first method was thermocolor material. The second method was magnetophoresis type display panel. This paper proposes methods to implement a user-designed mobile phone cover that consume no electric power. The first method uses thermocolored material. With it the user can design a colorful cover just by touching it. This can be applied at low cost. The second method is a magneto-phoresis type display panel. It allows the user to draw any pattern he/she wants. It too is of low cost and easy to use. Before describing these two methods, we present a survey of present trends for user-designed mobile phone covers.©2008 IEEE.
