- Abstract
- This paper aims to organize the beginning and development of the “Queen Coronation” and the flow of abolition, which was one of the most important events in the 1960s and 1970s university festivals. The Queen Coronation ceremony was often called the “May Queen” event and became a highlight at various university festivals in the 1960s and 1970s. The event, which had become popular around the same time, however, gradually disappeared one by one over the time difference. The point of attention here is particularly the assertion that emerged in the process of the event being abolished, the context of its time and the consequent university festival, and, by extension, a major shift in university culture as a whole.
