- Abstract
- The neo-liberal educational restructuring in Korea virtually have landed on the occasion of the emergence of civilian government and the inauguration of the Education Reform Commission in 1993. With the introduction of market principles in education, the neo-liberal education emphasizes more the efficiency and excellence of education than totally humanizing education as the original purpose of education. And also, it is commercialized the education as the relationship between the supply and the demand, and is strengthening the ideology and dominance of capital.
As Japanese had assimilated with Koreans through education, the neoliberal education seeks to conform people to the neo-liberal system.
Therefore, this article aims to study for the similarity between the education policy of Japanese Government-General of Korea and the Neoliberalistic education policy in korea. For this purpose, This article will take a look at the content of education policy of Korea Government-General under the Japanese occupation. In addition, This article will evaluate how did Private schools in korea respond to the education policy of Japanese imperialism. Next, It will explores the emergence and the education restructuring process of the Neo-liberal economic system in korea. And also, this article will investigates that How did it affects on the college education of korea. Finally, This paper will gauges the implications of the educational restructuring process of the Neo-liberalism, and thinks about a way forward for the University.
