- Abstract
- It has recently been proposed that Nb-92(41) and Tc-98(43) may have been formed in the nu-process. We investigate the neutrino induced reactions related to the nu-process origin of these two odd-odd nuclei. We find that the main neutrino reactions to produce Nb-92(41) are the charged-current (CC) Zr-92(nu(e), e(-))Nb-92 and the neutral-current (NC) Nb-93[nu((nu) over bar), nu'((nu) over bar)' n]Nb-92 reactions. Similarly, the main reactions for Tc-98(43), are the CC reaction Mo-98(nu(e), e(-))Tc-98 and the NC reaction Ru-99[nu((nu) over bar), nu'((nu) over bar)' p]Tc-98. Our calculations are carried out using the quasiparticle random phase approximation. Numerical results are presented for the energy and temperature dependent cross sections. Since charge exchange reactions by neutrons may also lead to the formation of Nb-92(41) and Tc-98(43), we also discuss the feasibility of the Mo-92(n, p)Nb-92 and Ru-98(n, p)Tc-98 reactions to produce these nuclei.
