- Abstract
- 대학 발전에 영향을 미치는 중요한 변수 중 총장의 지도력과 업무수행능력은 단일변수로서는 가장 영향력이 막강한 행정변수이다. 따라서 모든 대학들은 보다 우수한총장 선출제도 방안을 모색하고자 많은 노력을 경주하고 있다. 이러한 노력을 지원하기 위한 이론적 토대를 마련하고자 본 연구가 시작되었으며,따라서 첫째, 세계 우수대학 총장선출 제도의 방법론을 1) 제도의 체계화 정도, 2) 위원회 구성의 다양성, 3) 서치 컨설턴트의 활용 여부, 4) 총장후보 및 선출과정에 대한기밀성 유지 여부로 나누어 분석하였다. 둘째, 각 방법론의 상황적 적합성을 밝히기위하여 분석적 기술법(analytic narrative method)을 활용하여 조직유형론과 참여의사결정론을 적용한 이론적 논의를 전개하였다. 위 연구결과를 토대로 대학 상황별 보다적합한 방법론을 제안하였다.
