- Abstract
- We investigated the optical properties of ZnO nanocrystal (NC) films prepared by using the room-temperature solution-process method. The PL spectra of ZnO films with large diameter NC exhibited a strong near-band-edge (NBE) peak in the UV region even at, room temperature while the deep-level (DL) peak in the visible region was almost suppressed. in relation to this, the room-temperature absorption spectra showed an exciton-related feature near 3.3 eV. With the increasing diameter of NC, the intensity of the NBE peak was clearly found to increase, but, that of the DL peak decreased for the ZnO films. Both the NBE and the DL peaks exhibited strong temperature dependences. from which we can discuss the origin of the two emissions.
