Abstract
This study aims to examine undergraduates’ intention for exercise continuity according to their leisure satisfaction which is meeting or satisfying needs accomplished by leisure sport participation and to investigate their participation according to the participants’ characteristics and psychological processes internalized in exercise continuity to suggest ground to explain and anticipate exercise continuity. In order to figure this out, this paper collected 271 undergraduates attending universities located in Seoul setting them up as a mother group. The data collected are analyzed by descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis, and multiple regression. The results gained from the analysis are as below. First, about the difference of participation according to demographic characteristics, male students, art and athletics majors, juniors and seniors, and ground sports showed higher participation in general. Second, regarding their leisure satisfaction depending on the degree of participation, the period of participation affected leisure satisfaction as a whole. Third, considering the relation of their participation and leisure satisfaction on exercise continuity, the period of participation, frequency, time, and physical and educational leisure satisfaction all affected their exercise continuity.
