- Abstract
- The harmonic currents of the electric railway are mostly made by the power conversion devices. These affect the train and deteriorate power quality in the traction power supply system. So we need to study about the stability in the traction power supply system and the electric railway. However, study of the harmonic mostly is analysis and reduction countermeasure at the KEPCO connection point rather than the traction power supply system in the past. Therefore, we measured the harmonic of the new Korean Tilting Train Express (TTX) during test operation. In this paper, measured data is classified as operating mode (coasting mode, acceleration mode and regenerative braking mode) and analyzed. And we suggest passive filter for harmonic reduction of the train. Finally, we checked harmonic mitigation effect of a passive filter through PSCAD/EMTDC simulation. © 2011 ISSN 2185-2766.
