Abstract

This paper focuses on analyzing the change of the factors of investment in China and the influence or contributions on economy in China in terms of Huaren enterprises. In the early period, the essential factors of huaren companies’ investment in China is as follows: preference for investment in their hometown, common language and culture, huaren network, low-priced labor force and preferential policy of the Chinese government etc. But while the importance of these factors lessens in recent years, the below factors are getting more important: enhancement of economic transparence, enlargement of Chinese domestic market share, improvement of industrial structure in huaren place of residence and strategy for huaren enterprises’ globalization etc. The reason is that there happen great transformations including China’s entry into WTO, continuous rapid economic growth, expansion of domestic market and industrial policy of the Chinese government etc. And the significance of huaren enterprises get lower in Chinese economy in recent years. First, huaren investment in China played an absolute role in overall FDI in 1990s, but recently the ratio relatively lessens. Second, huaren investment in China has made great contributions to the trade between China and their home country. The trade among them is on the absolute increase, but on the relative decrease. But huaren investment in China makes greater contributions in new fields: high-tech industries, new service industries, overseas direct investment of Chinese companies, enlargement of the trade between China and other countries etc.
