Abstract
We propose a new multimode coding scheme for constructing error-correcting high rate DC-free codes. The sheme exploits high rate generator matrices to produce distinct cadidate codewords, and the generator matrices are created from a low-density parity-check matrix. The decoding complexity depends on whether the syndrome of the received codeword is zero or not. if the syndrome is zero, the decoding is simply performed by expurgating redundancy bits of received codewords. Otherwise, the decoding is performed by sum-product algorithm. The perfomance of the proposed sheme can achieve a reasonable DC-suppression and a low bit error rate.
