- Abstract
- This article primarily concerns the contractual remedies open to the buyer who is aggrieved by the seller's delivery of defective goods in quality. It describes and analyzes respectively the pre-existing remedies under the Sale of Goods Act (1979) and the new additional remedies under the Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002 which are applicable to consumer sales in order to highlight differences and similarities between them and to see their position on specific performance and price reduction English law has been long unfamiliar with. In addition, it examines the applicability of the new remedies and their likely impact on dispute resolution in order to provide legal advice to international traders who plan to enter into English consumer markets.
