중소규모 법과대학의 로스쿨 도입에 관한 연구

Abstract

Unsatisfaction on the judicial service have cause discussions on the reform of the judicial system. One of them is the introduction of the law school. Current bar examination makes legal education spiritless, and the Judicial Research & Training Institute impotent. Law school was introduced in Japan whose system is similar to that of Korea. Due to these changes the prospect of the introduction became a higher. Until now, however, current discussions have not reached up to the proper management of the law school. If the law school is introduced, universities who have it will close the law college. Required conditions will be also strict. Therefore small and medium scale law colleges must make decision whether to choose the law school. It is predicted that many universities will choose it considering their level and the applicants’ preference. This tendency will make the employment of the teaching staffs more competitive and the maintenance of undergraduate level legal education difficult. The tuitions will be much higher. The introduction of the law school may be the take-off stage. The system have to be adapted according to social consensus on what lawyers need. But now we need to concentrate on the feasible system, and to try to make the program which train the high level lawyer.
