dc.description.abstract | Formation characteristics of volatile fatty acids(VFAs) from concentrated sludge by three treatment methods were studied. Treatment methods applied were fermentation, thermal wet oxidation and wet oxidation with H2O2 addition. In biological fermentation, maximum acidification rate and degree of solubilization were 0.039 ㎎ HAc/㎎ TCODO and 6.5%, respectively. Thermal wet oxidation requiring high reaction temperature showed negligible acidification rate and enhanced degree of solubilization. In wet oxidation with H2O2, relatively high acidification rate(0.015 ㎎ HAc/㎎ TCODO) and high degree of solubilization(85.2%) were obtained at 80℃ for reaction time of 10 min. New sewage treatment process using concentration tank as pretreatment reactor for wet oxidation and fermentation tank was proposed. | - |
