Abstract

Focusing on The new day(『新的一天』) of Foxconn worker Xu Lizhi’s manuscript collection, this paper examines the meaning of labor in the development of information and communication technology. Xu Lizhi's poetry reveals the work in the assembly line working as a stone in one place, the nighttime and specials to keep up with the workload, and social relations that are blocked for secrecy. In such labor, the human body loses its vitality, the meaning of work is blocked, and humanity is exhausted. This difficulty of labor that Foxconn worker Xu Lizhi can not solve shows in advance the difficulty of polarizing labor that humanity has to face under the development of AI technology.
