dc.description.abstractIn this paper, coupling factors are calculated for assessment of human exposure to magnetic field from a wireless power transfer system. Two different types of coupling factors are calculated using electromagnetic field simulations according to the definitions in IEC 62226-2-1 and IEC 62311 standards, respectively. The resonant wireless power transfer system is designed with 2MHz operating frequency. For equivalent human model, simplified homogeneous human model in IEC 62311 standard is used. The variation of the coupling factor is analyzed according to the horizontal distance and vertical location of the transmitter with respect to the human body, and the safety assessment considerations for the wireless power devices are discussed based on the results.-
