dc.description.abstractThis paper deals with excitation and sensing of bending vibration in a rod using a piezoelectric transducer. This research was needed to develop a vibration-type level-switch sensor. The transducer was composed of multiple piezoelectric discs, and its exciting and sensing parts were separated. The rod and transducer were axially symmetric, but they were coupled asymmetrically to generate a bending vibration in the rod. According to the bending vibration characteristics of the rod, excitation and sensing by the transducer were observed with the rod in air and underwater. These results made it possible to design and manufacture a level-switch sensor of a bending vibration rod.-
