HSDD: The method of hierarchical section-based data dissemination in wireless sensor networks

Abstract

Data transmission is important issue in aspect of energy efficiency and high success rate at the sink movement. This paper proposes Hierarchical Section-based Data Dissemination(HSDD) which divides the sensor field into several levels of the section layer. With HSDD, even when the location of the mobile sink is changed or when a source node doesn't know its location, it can transfer data successfully. Data transmission between source and sink node is performed in three phases: location message transmission by the sink, data message transmission, and tunneling. Since HSDD transmits data through flooding among sections, it guarantees high success rate of the data transmission. HSDD shows more quality than TTDD by simulation which evaluates the performance of HSDD.
