dc.description.abstract | A component is a functional unit with well defined interfaces. It encapsulates its internal states and provides services to other components or applications. By modularizing required functions into components, a component-based system can easily reuse those components and provide a flexible application structure with dynamic reconfiguration. In this paper, we propose a component-based middleware, called MAGE, which uses service-oriented interface to provide platform transparency, implementation language transparency, and location transparency. MAGE can be used for Grid environments, which has dynamic resource availabilities and complex system configuration. | - |
