Abstract
A newly designed ruthenium(II) complex (Ru-Se) bearing a selone moiety showed unexpected enhancement in low-oxidation-potential (LOP) electrochemiluminescence (ECL) observed at electrode potentials before the oxidation of Ru-Se in the presence of tri-n-propylamine (TPrA), which was primarily attributed to the heavy atom effect caused by the selone in Ru-Se. © 2019
