Abstract
By the transformation of our society into the age of exploiting information technologies actively, the number of off-line clients who visit respective banks directly diminishes gradually. Thereby, the renewal of spaces in banks to attract attentions and interest of clients of banks are in progress. Thus, the present study intended for the reconstruction of unused spaces in banks to share with clients and analysis of contents and colors therein. The 4-branches of H-Bank located in the downtown of Seoul were selected as subjects of the present study, for which the observation of sites, photographs of each site, the programs of ‘Korea Standard Color Analysis’ and ‘Color iControl’, were used. Results obtained from the present study revealed the entire financial space of the bank was distinguished into business space and unused (non-financial) space wherein the clients were remaining after termination of daily business of the bank. The shared place played a role as a cultural space of community decorated with contents of diverse culture wherein users of the space interchange cultural issues through exhibition and sales of products etc. Besides, the colors therein vary and differentiate the unused space from business space of the bank by showing differences according to concepts of the space and contents therein thus the composition of contents was deemed important. The results obtained from the present study are expected to be exploited for the planning and active use of financial spaces of banks in the future.
