- Abstract
- With the development of display technology and semiconductor technology, it is possible to mass-produce large OLED panels. In the meantime, there have been studies to overcome the disadvantages of the flat display of the disadvantageous structure to improve the sound quality. Efforts have been made to control the shape and direction of the speaker's shape and radiation or to optimize the sound according to the environment. Finally, in 2017, OLED panels can be directly vibrated to produce sound. In this previous study, the exciter speaker was attached to the panel to act as the diaphragm of the dynamic speaker. This gives the viewer direct, clear sound on the panel, and maximizes immersion by allowing the sound and video to be played in the same location. However, the strong directivity of the OLED panel exciter is also an advantage and disadvantage. In this study, the acoustic radiation characteristics of OLED panel speakers are improved for hearing characteristics of viewers. By using multichannel exciters, it is possible to reproduce flat waves or form beams over the entire section of the screen. © 2020 IEEE.
