- Abstract
- 코로나19의 세계적 확산과 지속은 유권자들의 정치적 태도나 지지에 큰 영향을 주고 있다. 본 연구는 유권자의 코로나19 정부 방역 비교평가가 정부신뢰, 민주주의 만족도, 국가자긍심에 미치는 영향을 분석하다. 분석을 위하여 한국, 일본, 대만에서 수집된 코로나19 설문조사를 활용하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면 유권자의 코로나19 정부 방역 비교평가는 한국, 일본, 대만에서 모두 정부신뢰, 민주주의 만족도, 국가자긍심에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 다른 국가와 비교하여 자국 정부의 코로나19 방역이 성공적이라고 평가할수록 정부에 대한 신뢰, 자국의 민주주의에 대한 만족도, 국가에 대한 자긍심이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 과거 경제나 부패와 같은 정치적 요인들과 비교하여 상대적으로 중요하게 생각되지 않았던 정부의 방역과 재해에 대한 대처능력이 포스트코로나 시대에는 유권자의 정치적 지지를 결정하는 매우 중요한 요인 중 하나로 등장하고 있음을 말해준다고 하겠다.
