Abstract
This study aims to fabricate a texture actuator with shape memory alloys forsmart wearable wrist guards using stitching and knitting processes. To manufacture a textileactuator, shape memory alloys with diameters of 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5 mm were considered, and a sewing machine and weaver were used. Measurements were performed using utm,and an analysis was conducted. The wearability value is obtained by subtracting the valueobtained by the textile actuator from the value obtained by the general wrist protectorbefore the initiation of electrical operation, and the support force is obtained by subtractingthe value obtained by the general wrist protector from the value obtained by the textileactuator after the completion of electrical operation. As a result, the shape memoryalloy with a diameter of 0.5 mm in the stitching process is best suited for textile actuatorsfor smart wearable wrist guards.
