- Abstract
- VITD is a type of topographic analysis of feature codes that are different with Korea's thematic maps, being organized into six different thematic overlays: obstacles, slope, soils, surface drainage, transportation and vegetation. In this study, by creating VITD as topographic analysis maps, through a production method defined in the document MIL-PRF-89040 - a document that provides guidance on the methodology of topographic analysis mapping by the NGA - topographic feature codes of FACC and geographic feature codes of thematic maps are verified and put into matching. This means that the method proposed herein is utilizable not only for production of geographic analysis mapping, but also for various applications for forms of terrain analysis, such as forest roads for emergency transport routes to transport byproducts of forest, emergency helicopter/airplane landing points, and analysis for selecting the locations of surveillance cameras. © 2016 International Information Institute.
