- Abstract
- Terrestrial TV service operators have begun to represent an increasing share of content production in the media industry. However, despite its importance, there are relatively few studies about the efficiency of terrestrial TV operators. This research applies the DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) method to measure the efficiency of major terrestrial TV service operators using such variables as capital, employees, and assets. It also attempts to provide more accurate results by removing the bias in estimates through the bootstrap DEA method proposed by Simar and Wilson [1], and analyzes the cause of efficiency by Tobit regression after setting the dependent variable as a proposed efficiency score. Moreover, this study helps to identify the causes of efficiency from various aspects by analyzing the differences in efficiency among countries, between private/public service operators, and according to company size through the Wilcoxon Test. ©2015 International Information Institute.
