In this study, Steven Holl's architecture were analyzed in an unprecedented way, investigating the tectonic methods and spatial characteristics from the extended perspectives of the tectonic. With the theoretical analysis focused on the 'tectonic elements'- ‘place', 'structure', 'space' and 'material' were deduced. With the tectonic method of the intersection of 'concept' and 'experience', the analysis of the architectural works were processed. Through the analysis of cases in the perspective of 'tectonic', ‘the concept' tended to be derived from 'the place', as an extended element of tectonic from the locational context. In the way of experiencing 'the space', perception and movement by the body has been shown along with the 'environmental elements', according to time or reflection on the water. And spatial characteristics of each case are as follows: Firstly, the location where the intersection of the concept and experience is common space. Secondly, the derivative effects are varied along with each concept. Why unique spatial realization characteristics were shown in Steven Holl's Architecture was due to the insight of the concept and experience. And it showed the 'extended possibilities of common space', which came from inner realm to vertically extended realm, to outer realm and to urban space.-
